We have a variety of classes for individuals of different ages, gender, interest and abilities. From Salsa to Hip Hop, we have a range
of dance classes for different individuals. Our range of dance classes are as follows:
Salsa
This sexy and passionate partner dance originated from the distillation of many Latin and Afro-Caribbean dances.
Its' street origins makes it very accessible to people of all age groups and abilities and its relaxed form not
only makes it fun but also easy to learn.
|
We teach both the popular On1 slot-style that is currently the most popular style in the world as well as the On2
slot-style (commonly known as the New York style) that is fast gaining popularity around the world. This ensures
that our students will be able to dance Salsa no matter where he or she is in the world.
Classes are conducted in a progressive manner, with each successive class building on the foundations laid in the
previous. Furthermore, a programme is in place to allow students to progressively graduate to higher level classes
where they will learn more challenging material, all made possible by the basics laid in place in the foundation
classes and through practice.
As this is a social dance, partner rotation is practiced so that everyone gets to dance with everybody in class.
Not only does this ensure that leaders and followers learn how to adapt, it also creates opportunity for people to
get to know one another.

Salsa: On1
This is the predominant style in many parts of the world and is sometimes also known as the "Los Angeles Stlye".
It is a style strongly influenced by Hollywood and by the swing & mambo dances, giving it a flashy, high-energy feel
making it a fun and exciting dance for many.
We usually recommend beginners to start with this style first due to the predominance of On1 dancers in Singapore
and in the world. This allows them to quickly get out and dance with fellow salseros in Singapore and in the world.

Salsa: On2
New York! New York! The On2 style of Salsa is synonymous with the Big Apple and its rich history of music and dance.
The On2 style is characterised by smooth execution of moves, fancy shines and strong musicality.
At DansFlava Studios, our On2 courses are aimed more towards On1 dancers seeking to enhance their knowledge and
repertoire by learning the On2 style. As such, students signing up for the Salsa On2 Level 1 course are required to
have completed at least their Salsa On1 Level 1 course or equivalent before being allowed to sign up for this course.

Street Cha Cha
|
Cha-Cha-Cha! Unlike the cha-cha that some of us may be more familiar with, the style taught in DansFlava
follows more closely to the Cuban Street Cha Cha style. This style is preferred because the casual, relaxed
nature of the dance allows for greater freedom of expression and play.
Course Structure:
- Level 1: Beginners
- Level 2: Intermediate
- Level 3: Intermediate-Advance
Performance Class
For those interested in performing, we do also offer performance classes in Street Cha Cha. Please enquire for
more details. As with the Salsa performance classes, this course is opened only to students of at least intermediate
level and above.

We have two on-going courses catering to dancers of different experiences, a Level 1 course for dancers new to Hip Hop
and a Level 2 course for those looking for a challenge.
Course Structure:
- Level 1: Beginner/Beginner-Intermediate
- Level 2: Intermediate/Intermediate-Advance
